He (or maybe she!) got down on one knee, you said “yes,” you’ve stared at the new addition on your left hand for a little while… now what?
When dreaming up your perfect wedding day, one of the first things to consider is the venue. The place you hold your wedding will be the setting of everything you have planned and hoped for, will be the backdrop of your timeless photos and is the place where your most special memories will take place. That’s a lot of pressure for a venue!
A wedding venue is so much more than a location; it can make or break your wedding theme, it comes with staff that you will deal with throughout the planning process and the big day, and it may or may not have plan B if the ideal situation comes with conditions (i.e.: rain!).
Whether choosing a location close to home or a faraway destination, Pensacola has something to offer every wedding. Locals and visitors alike, wedding guests will be floored with the venue you choose. While by no means exclusive, here are 10 of our favorite Pensacola wedding venues, in no specific order.
#1 | The Beach | photo by Indie Pearl Photography
We’ll start our list with the area’s best attraction: our sugar sand beaches! Whether you choose Pensacola Beach or Perdido Key, there is a beach to fit every tropical bride’s dreams. The options with a beach wedding are endless: renting out a beach house for an intimate reception, partying on the patio at places like Hemmingway’s, or walking up to a local hotel reception room are all great options. Many people who choose to say “I do” around Pensacola want to do so with their toes in the sand.
#2 | The Lee House
We love wedding venues with history, character, and options. The Lee House delivers on all three! This historical bed and breakfast is located in the heart of downtown and offers a beautiful patio, fabulous amenities, and the best part is that you and your guests could stay right there after the party is over!
#3 | Pensacola Country Club | photo by Aislinn Kate Photography
If you are looking to host a grand affair that will leave your guests in awe, the Pensacola Country Club is the venue for you. Amazing views, gorgeous architecture, and world-class chefs and staff guarantee that your every desire can be delivered here. It is also the location of Sara Gillianne’s very own wedding!
#4 | The Palafox House | photo by Avant Photography
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention one of SG’s biggest supporters, as well as newest wedding hot spots in Pensacola, the Palafox House. Not only is this venue beautiful, warm, and trendy, it is also the location of the 2013 Pensacola Block Party Wedding.
#5 | 5Eleven | photo by Leslie Hollingsworth Photography
5Eleven is a trendy, art-deco inspired venue with a large open room to create your perfect look. Exposed brick, murals, and columns make this space both unique and welcoming. It also has options for outdoor space overlooking the iconic Palafox Street
#6 | Barkley House
As with most Pensacola venues, the Barkley House boasts great views, history, and prime location. The Barkley House was built in 1825 and looks out over Pensacola Bay. The property can accommodate an outdoor ceremony and has indoor room for up to 200 of your nearest and dearest.
#7 | Old Christ Church | photo by Jessi Field Photography
Completed in 1832, Old Christ Church is one of the oldest surviving church buildings in Florida, serving the Pensacola community as an Episcopal Church, public library, and museum. Many couples have chosen to host their wedding here, with the stained glass, old wooden pews, and acoustics that are perfect for wedding vows, this venue is perfect for any couple. Capacity: up to 185 guests
#8 | Pensacola Museum of Art
Are you dreaming of planning an art museum wedding, but think it can only be done at places like the Met in NYC? Think again! You can plan a beautiful and unique museum wedding right here at the Pensacola Museum of Art.
#9 | Fountain Park
If you’re looking for something away from the beach, in the heart of downtown, outdoors, and perfect for a smaller guest list, Fountain Park is a great option. Right next to historic Old Christ Church, many couples flock to this area for its history, beauty, and adaptability.
#10 | Pensacola Yacht Club | photo by Indie Pearl Photography
Maybe you want a waterfront wedding without the sand. The Pensacola Yacht Club is a great option for an outdoor ceremony under the oak trees and a grand reception in the ballroom that spills out to the patio.
Picking a wedding venue can seem overwhelming, but with a good idea of what you are looking for in the feel, style, and location of your wedding, the perfect place is just within reach. Don’t be afraid to schedule appointments to see many different locations also, if time and distance allow.
